friday! friday!

today was nice. mingyao and i went to watch 'rhinocerous', one of the arts fest shows in the esplanade recital studio, directed by zizi, one of my very nice tsd seniors. the acting was quite good but i didn't read properly that it was existential, or maybe at the time of choosing shows, i was quite ready for an intellectual play, but now that i'm so tired from work, the last thing i want to do is process existentialism. so it was good but my mind was not fully atuned. it was nice being in the studio - the feeling of being in the AVA in vjc.

what was brilliant was when mingyao and i hung out later at 'rogues', the bar/restaurant near his office where he recommended i try the best pizza ever - gorgeous salty bacon and the crispy texture of the bread - it went very nice with the light stella atois on tap except that i was a tad sleepy - love having conversation with mingyao and it wasn't so crowded because at that time the cbd was relatively empty.

it's now about a year and a month after i started work; i like it very much and i've been exposed to alot of things and i've learnt that the most important things to try and balance is to love what you do but not be too caught up with it; and other factors like having a beautiful office to work in and having lovely collegues makes work fun - the people factor, that's so crucial. plus i get inspired frequently so that's lovely too. it's very important that i learn to strike a balance between everything - even exercise. this week i'm going to have to try to begin the habit again of running before work - that means not switching on the computer or lounging around doing nothing productive resulting in sleeping late that hinders my waking early. hello willpower.

my brother is done with BMT and he's driving too. second sis gets married in two weeks - i finally found my dress but i've got it altered to make it better - dusty pink; now i need to find shoes. something snazzy for work and play because my current work ones have died on me - mom's so cute. she stocks up on shoes about once a year during the sale and she's got so many pairs! tomorrow i'm buying more flowers - and i love to bring the excess to the office, makes the window ledge more lively. love the contrast between the freshness of the plants and the chipped weathered concrete ledge.
