oh duh. i kept wanting to check out the detusche bank collection at the singapore art museum but i forgot and now it's over.

humans work by being in two states - stuck in a moment and whizzing by with full concentration and no thought for the moment - i think we work best if we are aware of the need for both dualities - creating and experiencing both depth and expanse.

golly! time for a new diary - since 1999 and now i'm finally on the last page - but alas i find nothing i like whilst walking through bookstores and stationary stores. my favourite journals to write in are from paperchase, particularly the ones with rubber covers and graph paper insides - they open well, flip well and are nice to touch, and graph papers are a good ambivalent state between blank surfaces and lined surfaces. maybe it is time for a change - go lined - only the paperchase ones that borders currently stocks have such big spacing between the lines - who writes so big? i like to mash my words together till the page looks like a curly-wurly pattern with irregularities.

whilst i really like the moleskine range of notebooks, they're really too pricy. i might buy them if they were triple the thickness for the price. i especially like the graph paper type. however, i do think the reporter notebooks will be fun to write in. did hemingway or matisse really pay so much for their notebooks?

one of the best ways to journal is to the music of beautiful soundtracks - it digs you deep. these days it's the Il mare ost on repeat.
