i've gotten my toiletries and what nots. now, to decide what books and CDs to bring. I'll be bringing High Fidelity and one book of poetry, haven't decided on which one. Was considering Tolstoy's War and Peace but it might be kind of heavy. Maybe do a recap with George Eliot's Mill on the Floss but it's a bit thick. The airplane ride will be long but i won't be reading all the time. I'll bring another book that i can give to someone there so i won't have to bring it back. ahhh... passing on books is something i delight in. I've been listening to Yoyo Ma's cello playing in The Eternal Vow, it is very beautiful but it is so short. Also Henri Mancini's stuff. His are what dreams are made of. Listening to his music makes me feel like I'm walking on a red carpet in a mellow evening on the way to a play or something with the boy i love with me, and it also makes me feel like Audrey Hepburn at her window with Cat sitting by. I love the way she calls Cat. It makes the animal romantic suddenly.
I have a misson today to finish making and sending all my Christmas cards. Nobody should send ecards for Christmas. It's so ephemeral and boring. I am a snail mail fan. It's a rainy day today, misty and hazy making the trees look watercolour-ish and the sky a very thing film of faded denim blue. a very good atmosphere to listen to henri mancini and doodle around with my thick black tapered end black marker and pretty textured paper. A different card for everybody.
The Kill Bill Soundtrack isn't that fantastic as a whole without watching it. But the voice of Nancy Sinatra is alluring and mysterious. Bang bang.
