sweet saturday

on saturday the weather was wonderful especially at crowhurst drive. my lovely friend of fourteen years got married to a very gentlemanly steven from bristol. i rememeber all the times we would take the bus to her house after school and hang out watching her starwars/other vcds that her dad bought or walk to serangoon gardens in our pinafoes and eat fries and ice cream at kfc or try playing lara croft on her computer - at least i think i did play once or twice/ borrow her adventure story books and debate about which guy character was more attractive/ do our social studies project where we made up a song about multiracial society and discovered we were the most enthusiastic about it in class when we presented it and i think sam did run down to serangoon gardens to get more vanguard sheet and came up all perspiring. sometimes ying sharon and i would go swimming at the nearby complex. i think we did that a couple of times.

they make a sweet pair. approved by all of us! ying's kindhearted, compassionate, creative and patient. and steven's quiet love for her was evident. i was a little late for games session but it was wonderful to see ying having fun playing bride in her kwa. i helped around to take shots for ying and sammie who weren't there in the morning and helped a little here and there and got her to pose silly shots with steven for my camera and said hi to her maid who's been there since we were in secondary school and we headed off to raffles town club - and i squeeze into the bridal car with them where i got priceless shots of them rehearsing their vows - for the solemnisation and the luncheon which was just sweet and sammie and danny arrived a little later and ying's lychee martini cake was delicious. it's good to see her so happy. three weeks more before she leaves. i will miss her much!

last weekend a blue bird's egg fell onto the office terrace and mingfang found it. so sad.

today mingyao and i went to check on some house things. we stood for a while by the window to be enveloped by this little space we have. our little corner of the world. i love you he says to me a few times tonight and in the car he holds my hand.

i love you too.
