today mingyao took me to the fish soup stall at amoy street market to try the really good fish soup - the fish was bouncy and fresh and the soup was just the right amount of peppery. next time i'm going to try the wantan mee in the stall nearby, where mingyao claims the char siew is 'beautiful'. we went to jalan besar today to walk the shops of kitchen sinks and sanitary wares just to look see and get an idea of price. both of us fell in love with the satin finish of a kitchen sink in a random shop although a hairline finish one would make scratches less apparent. later he bought his electronic bits and pieces in sim lim tower - his own DIY projects for the house - i'm doing my homework too, just like you are, he says.
