'tim burton's corpse bride' on thursday evening was sad, and funny. tim b. and his muses can do no wrong it seems. 'pride and prejudice' starring keira knightly and matthew macfadyen is so good, the pain and affections between lizzy and mr. darcy was, i thought, well played-out, the film really pushed and pulled at my feelings the whole time, and the cinematography of the british countryside was apt [ reminded me of being at lake district when i was nineteen]. the british wit, ah. hilarious. judi dench was quite a suprise treat. my favourite lines from the novel has got to be this [ memories of reading the book over and over again - this elegantly drawn cartoon version, in primary school where i so wanted to be lizzy b.]

Mr. Bennett: An unhappy alternative is before you, Elizabeth. Your mother will never see you again if you do not marry Mr. Collins. And I will never see you again if you do. [hilarious, mr. bennett is so likable in the movie]

i rather prefer keira k. and matthew m. playing the main leads than the previous adaptation with colin firth - colin firth is too oldish-looking and common already. and oh the scene where mr. darcy declares, in a most sincere and drunken [in love] tone, was so good it made me cry. ms. austen, you are terrible for making me swoon so!

Mr. Darcy: You have bewitched me, body and soul.
