my family had dinner at the coffee shop opposite queensway shopping centre with an american chinese couple, customers and friends of my mother. there was alot of travel talk at the dinner table, the most probable common topic and it did stir up the wanderlust in me again. you would have hated their signature dish MY CHOY, it was fish hor fun with plenty of dou4 ya2,as much as there were noodles. but it was great.

i think i know why i like kings of convenience so much. when it's playing i feel like i'm travelling, somewhere else, going somewhere, in transit, mentally and emotionally i feel that i'm happily travelling, stopping at places to have cuppachino and a good book in hand, stopping by the lake to throw stones, on an old train travelling through multifarious landscapes, the lyrics are sad love song types but the music does me wonders.

i was reading Mario Gandelsolas's X-Urbanism in the afternoon. it's very very fun to read but really hard to grasp at certain parts. My mother's friend asked me after dinner who my favourite architect was, and i surprised myself, i was at a loss for words. i said that i used to have certain favourites but now after exploring and reading more i'm more open to alot of ideas. i think well if i have favourite architects, they would be in the likes of louis kahn and mvrdv and west 8, current favourites. oh yes, last year it was sejima, i think though now i'm more fascinated by many ideas than a certain 'style'. i like to be enlightened by new ways of thinking. i think that's why i like architecture.
