my love,
he gave me a box of godiva truffles for christmas.
surprised me
at the airport - the gleaming gold
of the paper bag. i could not even dare to comprehend
the confectionary grandeur that lay inside
sixteen truffles, my eyes beheld;
entirely melty, a very metaphysical sort of experience
-chocolates like these make delicious 'sensual'
and rare 'exquisite'
popping another one into my mouth
love. i made the innocent mistake of thinking i could understand it through theory but on deep reflection, it was only a way of escaping from risking what cannot be controlled. being in love is like having the most exquisite chocolate, you don't know what it's like until you have experienced it. and then you get addicted and that wonderful experience cannot be erased from your life after, it has to be there all the time, you can't imagine life without it, it becomes what living is.
