at the nursery; and i love fridays

there were guests on friday - we went to gary's house nearby for dinner and after they they came to our place for drinks and mingyao baked some cajun fries - super - while we played the card game Gary brought which was fun and so of course i bought some flowers before hand - i like the yellow crysentamums best - the white ones are only nice when they're a single stalk in the muji flask. i didn't really like the carnation and white crysentamum mix - carnations are not really my thing i guess i feel not much great love for them. the texture of the yellow ones are beautiful though.






and this afternoon after lunch at changi airport we drove to the nursery at bedok and they had the Phalaenopsis Orchids I so love, the ones in white. i realise that they're not as expensive as i thought they were - i had wanted them in my hair for my wedding but i thought they were really expensive. but i love the peony that i had in my hair anyways. i would love to have peonies at home! we put the pot in the living room - they're quite low maintenance, a small shot glass of water a week, the salesman said. mingyao got a rosemary plant and a curry leaf plant so that we can use them in our cooking and the salesman gave us a tiny bundle of aloe vera for free - but we had to pay two dollars for the pot.

in the evening we met the family for dinner at the thai restaurant in sembawang and drove by grandparents' place to visit them.
