chapter one
on thursday the cell group met at paragon to buy basic food items for an orphanage in east timor. we've decided to be more involved in charity projects of our own and our first step is to send a food package to the orphanage and see how things go - see how we can continue to contribute on a regular basis in the future. so we bought rice, cereal, milk, noodles etc. i decided that it's pretty sad the kids can't have candy and all that cos we were told to provide the essentials first as they're the most urgent. well anyways i got them a big tin of ovaltine - kids should have some chocolate.
chapter two
my portable fm receiver has died - the wires have gone rusty on me - so i set out to buy a new one - although the past few weeks was pretty good running with the nano, i like to run with the radio sometimes because it keeps me informed about about new music and the unpredictablity is kinda fun. do you realise that nada shops sell pure fm receivers anymore? they're only selling the ones that come with the mp3 functions. they're facing them out. it's going out, together with casette tapes of our yesteryears. and so today i went to sim lim square at the tail-end of our jalan besar trip and after some hunting i finally found a sony one. anyways. fyi.
chapter three

the other day i went with yh to the cream furniture showroom at purvis street after the meeting with the landscape architects nearby to check out the furniture cos it's different when you look at them in the catalogues. woah. beautiful stuff. it's beautifully laid out with the cement flooring contrasting with the beautiful furniture and the glass window looking out to the spiral staircase at the back of the shophouse with plaster peeling off it's balustrades. anyways, the wood of the e15 furniture is gorgeous. we went to the main showroom next door and it was gorgeous too, with the wenge (or even darker) wood floors and cement flooring, and the boffi kitchen and bath appliances. boffi is amazing. check it out. the most simple things are the most inspiring and emotive. but the most expensive!
