today i went to buy flowers. alot alot of flowers. i love being at the florist. i like wildflowers. roses alone are rather predictable. put some sweet williams next to them and the bunch looks a bit more hip. the deep colour of apidistra leaves go so well with white hydrangeas.

sweet williams.

apidistra leaves. because i liked the name.

hydrangeas.

the vietnam roses are abit creamy.

i love the whiteness and softness of the hydrangeas most. they look like soft tissue paper.

oh i am beat.

on saturday my da jie came back home and i made her chin chow and cooked lunch for her and mark. and then i went to the office bbq at yuen hong and ee lin's very nice house at west coast place - after we stopped at sixth avenue for nasi briyani (opposite guthrie house, very fragrant rice and very crispy fried chicken) and the bbq was so filling with saussages, satay and everything else. their pets are so cute - choc the dog gets followed by their three cats when he goes for his evening walks. on sunday we decided to have pizza at california pizza kitchen and we dragged ourselves about town after that because the food was seeping into our brains making us incapable of any complex comprehensions and it was so irrationally hot - oh the air con it is wonderful! and mingyao got me a bodum coffee/tea presser/cup because i wanted one and he had an additional ten percent discount with his taka card.

today i decided to take a walk to melt an ounce of bbq food and went to the sandwich shop to get myself a salad and a very very good blueberry yoghurt.

cushion in the office

this week i met mingyao twice for lunch, once at the nasi briyani store at circular road and another time at the korean eatery, also along the same road. it's cool because i checked out new stores. the chicken from the nasi briyani can't beat the one at sixth avenue. korean food was quite nice. homely. korean always = new york now.

the rearrangement of space at the office is pretty cool too. i like my new seat; i get extra table space because of the window ledge. some fresh flowers will be nice.
this weekend i had better recuperate properly and not waste time like i always do, doing random thing. my panda eyes are awful.

on wednesday most of us from the office went to the singapore institute of architects dinner at suntec convention hall - not very classy with super dim lights and so-so fusion food; in the office, at half past five we dashed to the pantry and started piling on the make up stuff and changed into our high heels. it was nice to see my boss interacting with the famous chaps and also to spot some of the young kids like us around. mingyao was playing with the alumni band at majestia concert at the esplanade so he picked me up after that. i like to see that he was so happy playing with the band - 'being in the concert hall, on stage, with the vj band, seeing so many kids in the vj uniform, made me v emotional - romantic - i think it's cos i met u there', he said something to this effect.

- same for me.

and so ee jie arrives home tomorrow.

today we attended joanne and andre's wedding dinner at the four seasons hotel. yesterday there was the church wedding. it's always fun when the group is around during events. alex lim turned up in a suit; alex q. went into a photo-taking frenzy; the official photographer had a lovely leica m5 besides his canon; my nose got sunburnt again under the marquee at the plaza during the reception and started peeling - time to be serious about the uv/uva/spf50 application; the people at our table were really entertaining; and joanne was really beautiful.

i thought, i've learnt not to sweat the small stuff; but all life is irony of course; sometimes not sweating the small stuff can come back to haunt you.

colouring my eyes and colouring my lips a darker tinge - everybody thinks i'm young young. at the phuket hotel at work over the weekend: 'i thought you were a student intern!' and the taxi driver said, you are fibteeen? stooden?...
