hong kong part two

mingyao is watching mythbusters on cable tv now. cable tv is great in a hotel. today we walked alot, window shopping and shopping. mingyao went out to the supermarket, wellcome, to buy soya bean milk and we had the eggtarts we bought last night for breakfast. later we went to the restaurant upstairs to have dim sum. there wasn't the typical char siew sou or egg tart; the cheong fun with char siew was not bad though. we took a train to kowloon tong and spent several hours in the huge mall there, connected to a university. lucky students. we're mall rats; there are so many agnes b shops around town. there was even a cafe in the agnes b sport shop. that was cool. i like agnes b but it's so overpriced. there's a skating rink in the mall. we went into uniqlo again and i bought some stuff and mingyao got some baby stuff for his soon-to-be-in-this-world nephew. oh ya we bought egg tarts from this shop at the station. we took the train to another suburban mall a few stops away where there was an ikea and after walking for a bit we took the train back to the hotel and lazed around with more cable tv before deciding we were alright for dinner and mingyao craved for yesterday's roasted duck so we went back to the same restaurant across the road, star restaurant or something, the name, and we had half a roast duck, some melon soup and a vege and fish dish. the carlsburg beer lady recognised us from yesterday. we went back to the hotel to laze again before coming out for dessert, because this is hong kong, mingyao said. we both had a bowl of mango and grapefruit and sago dessert and now i'm so stuffed and yeah we're watching cable tv again. we're skipping the peak and disneyland and ocean park. tomorrow we're going shopping again at causeway bay and probably lan kwai fong for dinner. i hope i can get to use the hotel gym tomorrow morning. because i need the detox mannnnnn. sleepy.

yesterday we went to hmv and i bought a cd. we always get new music on trips. ivy's 2001 album. it's wonderful. beautiful.

the hotel room comes with a cool soundsysem we can manipulate. so here we are sitting around blasting oasis on the stereo with bass and everything. champange supernova in the sky.

these days are made of: spritzs of evian water spray in the random afternoons/a sometimes hot afternoon/ a sometimes chilly (like new york, like melbourne) evening that calls for scarves and zipped-up hoodies; with arms around each other walking the streets laughing and joking with each other under the drug of wandering in foreign streets together; surprise kisses on the cheek and standing in the mtr train laughing at advertisements, looking into glass door reflections; feeling the mosaic tiles on the train stations as we lean against them while in wait - blue, yellow, green (at jordon station, our station); gulps of hydrating water; walking into any supermarket we see - hong kong beer, i pointed out to mingyao as we visit the alcohol section; cable tv; singing aloud to anything and everything; reading menus (only mingyao; i look at pictures or other things that distract me) under the neon signs crawling up the streets on the building facades of dirty black and greyed windows and a blurry sky. we were getting high. we were getting high...

the song has ended. goodnight.
