today is mingyao's birthday :) we went to sushi tei for dinner - bumped into chloe and suchin at the same outlet - i gave him his birthday presents. a japanese confectionery - almond biscuits with red bean paste filling. and a royal copenhagen 1998 children's day plate (the year we met). it's no longer in production and there are limited pieces available. this one will go up next to the 1981 donald and daisy one. we wandered into the bakery and mingyao had an ampan bun - just after dinner? he said. okay, i said, and he walked in, 'cos it's my birthday, he says. we are going to have an extended celebration next week. i'm looking foward to that.
