saturday: sherry ann's wedding at a catholic church at rocher road that was more than a hundred years old with glass louvre windows and no airconditioner but instead, ceiling fans swirling beneath stained glass panels set within blue walls - and dinner later at a cantonese restaurant at clarke quay filled to the brim with architecture people.
sunday: must use borders discount - bought a copy of j. kerouac's on the road which someone had already flipped through for like a million hours because there was a (heartbreaking; wrinkly) line on the spine but it was the only one left and so i had to get it (big sur comes later, and so.) and i went for a run (finally finally) in the evening.
monday: mingyao picked me up for dinner and we went to sushi tei at paragon/ stuffed ourselves with the usual/ took a walk to a million cd shops to search for mingyao's exclusively reclusive unfind-able cd and i wanted to buy nouvelle vauge's latest cd but the shop there were (longwinded) obstacles - i don't like two or three of the tracks inside, but i like enough of them to want it, sometime. and hmv at the heeren looks pathetic now - the glorious past of wondering through tower records and a gigantic hmv in school uniform times is over. there is something beautiful about buying cds rather than downloading - like a book - the solidarity and print art is such a tactile experience.
